Happy New Year! We begin this new year with a well attended meeting and much to talk about. The 2011 Audit schedule is now official and the SDSRA QA Qualified Subcontractor Listing was distributed with a few new members added. We thank Agustin Munoz from PCE for taking an audit with short notice and thank David Saavedra from MIS, Inc. for volunteering to extract statistical data from last year's audit results.
On another note:

Please accept this as my formal notice of resignation as Chairman of the Port of San Diego Ship Repair Association QA Committee, effective on Wednesday February 9, 2011. I have enjoyed my chairman position since January, 2007 and appreciate the member support and all I have learned. I will continue to be active with this great committee representing Pacific Ship Repair & Fabrication. Thank you very much for the opportunity to represent quality in the San Diego waterfront.

November Meeting Minutes are Posted =====>

We have reached another milestone in that "we" as a committee completed this year's Scheduled and unscheduled audits 100%. Thanks to you members who always came through even when your work was heavy. We welcome and hope to see all members back next year 2011. We also offered and accomplished several training courses. The last one "Internal Quality Auditor/Root Cause Analysis" is to be held at PACSHIP November 30th -Dec 1st. Read the meeting minutes for more details.

Our December Christmas Luncheon meeting will be held at the South Bay Fish and Grill located in the Chula Vista Marina. Read the meeting minutes for more detail. See you there!

October Minutes Posted

I want to thank member auditors for their great performance in scheduling and conducting all of 2010 scheduled QMS Audits for this SDSRA QA Committee. This year, we represented San Diego contractors at the annual SSRAC conference and were present with a Graduated QA working Group. We also provided valuable Internal Auditor and Root Cause training as well as an approved NAVSEA NBPI course. We helped many small businesses enter the PSDSRA and the coveted QA Committee qualified subcontractor listing, QSL. I look forward to seeing all of you this next meeting. We will choose a venue and location for December's X-Mas meeting and plan next year's activities. Be sure to let me or Ms. Christina Sullivan know of any audit schedule preferences you may have for 2011.

September Meeting Minutes posted

Thanks again to our QA committee members and auditors who came through this month with their audits. We are rapidly approaching the end of year and our goal is to accomplish 100 percent of our scheduled audits. Hope to see you at our next meeting Wednesday 13, 2010.

Thank you once again for visiting this site. This month went by in a flash. Our QA committee members have been busy conducting audits, providing valuable training and attending meetings and conferences. We remain active with our local ship repair industry supporting SWRMC, subcontractors and vendors helping them maintain quality throughout the San Diego Region.
